De quoi faire dire à Alex Iwobi que : « Ce sera difficile, mais nous savons bien défendre et j’espère que nous ferons ce qu’il faut pour atteindre la prochaine étape », a déclaré le joueur de Leicester.
Aussi difficile que puisse paraître cette opposition des quarts de finale de la CAN 2023, le milieu de terrain et les Super Eagles savent où appuyer pour faire mal. « Nous avons regardé de nombreuses vidéos de l’Angola. Nous savons où les frapper. L’entraîneur a déjà dit que ce serait difficile et nous sommes prêts à y faire face », a fait savoir Alex Iwobi. Quant à son rôle sur le terrain, il se montre un peu plus clair.
« On m’a dit de garder le ballon et d’aider l’équipe. Nous avons déjà suffisamment de créativité en attaque. Je me contente de faire ce qui va aider l’équipe, c’est tout ce qui compte », a-t-il expliqué.
