La Fédération ivoirienne de football vient de verser une somme de 50 000 euros à Clermont Foot suite au sacre des Éléphants à la CAN 2023. La raison de cette rentrée financière se justifie par une condition posée par les Auvergnats quand ils voulaient laisser l’entraîneur Emerse Faé partir en 2022.
La 3e étoile des Éléphants de la Côte d’Ivoire continue de faire des heureux. Cette fois-ci, c’est un club de Ligue 1 en France qui s’en frotte les mains. En effet, Clermont Foot vient de bénéficier d’un chèque de 50 000 euros de la part de l’instance africaine de football. L’information a été rapportée par nos confrères français. Mais que comprendre de cette manne financière?
Emerse Faé était sur le banc de Clermont Foot
Tout remonte au mois de juin 2022. À ce moment-là, Emerse Faé entraîne l’équipe réserve de Clermont, avec qui il est sous contrat jusqu’en 2024. Il avait été débauché par sa Fédération en Côte d’Ivoire pour occuper le rôle d’adjoint sur le banc des Éléphants. Mais Emerse Faé a été libéré sous trois conditions. Il s’agit de l’organisation d’un match amical à Clermont avant juin 2024, le versement de 25.000 euros en cas de sacre à la CAN et le versement de 25.000 autres euros si Faé est nommé sélectionneur.
Voilà qui tombe à pique pour Clermont Foot. Les deux dernières conditions ont été réalisées. Adjoint de Jean-Louis Gasset au coup d’envoi de la CAN 2023, Faé a été nommé sélectionneur intérimaire juste avant les 8es de finale, après l’éviction du titulaire. A l’arrivée, les Éléphants Ivoriens sont montés sur le toit de l’Afrique.
