Après plusieurs heures d’attente du public, les Éléphants de Côte d’Ivoire, sacrés champions d’Afrique, ont enfin fait leur apparition au Stade Félix Houphouet-Boigny.
Le moment tant attendu est enfin arrivé. En pleine liesse populaire depuis la soirée du dimanche 11 février 2024, les Ivoiriens sont nombreux à remplir les travées du Stade Félix Houphouet-Boigny ce lundi, jour férié en Côte d’Ivoire. L’enceinte de 40 000 places est pleine craquer, depuis des heures même avant l’arrivée des Éléphants.
Il sonnait 19h57 GMT, quand les nouveaux champions d’Afrique ont fait leur apparition sur la pelouse du Stade Félix Houphouet-Boigny d’Abidjan. Ils ont été accueillis dans un bain de foule, avec des chants et des cris de joie. Les joueurs se sont présentés dans un tee-shirt blanc surmonté d’une casquette blanche. En chœur, avec le public, ils ont repris l’hymne officiel de la CAN 2023, aux côtés de la mascotte officielle.
C’est Max-Alain Gradel qui a brandi le magnifique trophée de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations. C’est parti pour plusieurs heures de célébration des héros d’un peuple fier de son équipe, qui a su vaincre l’adversité pour monter sur le toit du football africain. Pour rappel, c’est la troisième fois que la Côte d’Ivoire remporte la CAN, après celles de 1992 et 2015.
