Souleymane Diawara a évoqué les chances des Lions de la Teranga de réaliser un historique doublé en Côte d’Ivoire. « Je pense que le Sénégal fait partie des favoris, c’est logique, ça reste le tenant du titre. On a une belle équipe avec un effectif conséquent. Mais comme on le dit régulièrement ces dernières années, il y a cette fameuse malédiction : depuis le triplé de l’Égypte, aucune nation n’a réussi à remporter deux fois de suite la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations. J’espère qu’ils seront les premiers à briser cette série négative ! Je vois bien le Sénégal. », a-t-il déclaré.
Un avis partagé par plusieurs autres consultants qui voient le Sénégal bien parti pour aller soulever un deuxième sacre en Côte d’Ivoire.
Abdoulaye Ndiaye, le crack à suivre durant la compétition
Dans ses analyses, outre de désigner son équipe favorite, Souleymane Diawara note la Guinée comme l’équipe outsider de la compétition. « Je pense que le Maroc est capable de venir jouer les trouble-fêtes. Ils ont fait un beau parcours à la Coupe du Monde et ils ont un super groupe capable de faire de grandes choses. J’ai aussi un outsider dont peu de gens parlent : la Guinée. Ils sont dans un groupe relevé avec le Sénégal, le Cameroun et la Gambie, mais ils peuvent être les outsiders ! », a-t-il expliqué.
Enfin, Souleymane Diawara cite les joueurs à surveiller durant le tournoi. Si les grandes stars répondent présentes, Abdoulaye Ndiaye y est également mentionné. « Évidemment, il y a tous les gros noms que l’on connaît, les Salah, Osimhen, Mahrez ou encore Mané, mais je pense aussi à un joueur moins connu, le jeune Abdoulaye Ndiaye, qui va découvrir la sélection, en espérant qu’il nous ramène un trophée. », a conclu l’ancien international sénégalais.
En tout cas, que ce soit le Sénégal, le Maroc, l’Algérie ou autre, un seul d’entre eux décrochera l’or le 11 février prochain.
