Bonne nouvelle pour José Peseiro et les Super Eagles du Nigéria. Le technicien portugais récupère un joueur important de son effectif. Et ce, avant la finale de la CAN 2023 face à la Côte d’Ivoire prévue pour ce dimanche 11 fevrier 2023. Il s’agit du latéral gauche de Porto Zaidu Sanusi. Ce dernier a effectué son come-back dans le rang des champions d’Afrique 2013.
C’était au lendemain de la rencontre. Il a participé à la seance d’entraînement destinée aux remplaçants. Zaidu Sanusi était absent lors de la rencontre entre le Nigéria et l’Afrique du Sud le mercredi 07 février 2024. Ceci dans le cadre des demi-finales de la CAN 2023 qui a eu lieu au stade de la Paix de Bouaké. La raison de son absence est jusque là inconnue.
