Depuis le début de l’actuelle saison 2023-2024, l’ex-sélectionneuse nationale Radia Fertoul se trouve en Arabie Saoudite pour tenter une aventure inédite au sein du club Nadi El Amal de la ville d’Al Taif qui évolue en seconde division, avec la perspective de le faire grandir et de le mettre parmi l’élite.
Une longue et riche carrière au service du football féminin
Après plusieurs années dans le circuit du football féminin en Algérie où elle a occupé plusieurs fonctions : de footballeuse internationale à sélectionneuse nationale, en passant par entraîneure de plusieurs clubs, à chef de Département du football féminin voir même membre du bureau fédéral durant le mandat de Kheireddine Zetchi où elle a présidé la commission du football féminin, Radia Fertoul a finalement fait le saut pour tenter une expérience à l’étranger. Celle qui a été la première sélectionneuse dans le monde arabe, et celle qui a créé le club du FC Constantine en 2004 avant sa fusion il y a deux ans avec le CS Constantine, n’a pas hésité à accepter l’offre Saoudienne du club de Nadi Al Amal de la ville de Taif, une formation de la Ligue 1 (seconde division) qui ambitionne non seulement d’accéder parmi l’élite en Ligue professionnelle, mais surtout de grandir et compter parmi les futurs pôles du football féminin dans un pays en pleine révolution.
L’objectif : accéder en Super League
Mais pourquoi un club de 2ème division, alors que Radia Fertoul avait reçu des offres de la part de formations de la Ligue 1 professionnelle féminine ? La native de Constantine a estimé qu’elle a plutôt choisi le challenge sportif et un projet à moyen terme que de plonger directement dans l’élite, même si le foot féminin en Arabie Saoudite n’avance pas au même rythme que celui des hommes.
La particularité de ce club de Nadi Al Amal est qu’il est présidé par une ancienne footballeuse qui a remis les clés techniques à Fertoul pour ce projet ambitieux : ‘’Ici en Arabie Saoudite, il y a des clubs étatiques et d’autres privés, comme celui pour lequel je me suis engagé, présidé d’ailleurs par une ancienne joueuse saoudienne. Le projet qu’on m’a proposé est plus qu’intéressant car nous ambitionnons de monter une équipe compétitive avec comme objectif l’accession en division professionnelle, affirmera une Fertoul toute enthousiaste à l’issue de la victoire de son équipe face à la formation de Djedda (7 à 3), lui permettant d’accéder pour la première fois au carré final de la Ligue 1, après avoir remporté neuf matchs sur dix dans ce championnat.
Nadi Al Amal, un club à connotation algérienne
Après l’élection de la nouvelle équipe fédérale et la désignation d’un nouveau directeur technique national, en l’occurrence Ameur Mansoul, Radia Fertoul était malheureusement mise sur la liste des cadres indésirables. Toutefois, sa compétence reconnue en Afrique en tant qu’instructrice Elite CAF et sa carte de visite n’ont pas laissé de marbre les dirigeants du club de Nadi Al Amal. Après quelques échanges et négociations, Fertoul a dit oui : ‘’Le projet qu’on m’a proposé est très intéressant dans la mesure où je vais avoir les coudées franches pour mettre en place mon programme de travail et faire progresser les joueuses locales’’, expliquera-t-elle. D’ailleurs, pour y parvenir, cinq joueuses algériennes dont une gardienne de but, ont rallié le club d’Al Amal pour accompagner Fertoul dans cette nouvelle expérience, parmi lesquelles les internationales Imane Merrouche, Naïma Bouheni et Nora Bouaïta. ‘’Effectivement, nous sommes présentes en force pour accompagner ce projet innovant et tenter de relever ce défi de faire progresser les jeunes joueuses saoudiennes et atteindre la Division 1 professionnelle qui comprend également huit clubs féminins’’, a-t-elle précisé.
Instructrice Elite CAF depuis 2019
En plus de son parcours sur le plan national, Radia Fertoul est reconnu sur le continent africain puisqu’elle compte parmi les cadres techniques de la Confédération africaine de football qui la promeut instructrice Elite CAF en 2019 par le Département de développement de cette instance, après avoir réussi tous les examens et évaluations qu’elle a eu à passer. En septembre dernier, et avant de s’envoler vers l’Arabie Saoudite, elle a pris part à un cours de renforcement des capacités à Rabat, au Maroc.
En plus de ses compétences, cette réussite, Fertoul la doit à sa volonté et à son abnégation. C’est une travailleuse acharnée qui ne laisse rien au hasard, d’où son envie de réussir son premier coup, le transformant en coup de maître. Elle en est capable, Fertoul d’Arabie.
