Au stade du 5 juillet le samedi 3 juin 2023, les joueurs de Young Africans ont été ovationnés par les supporters de l’USM Alger. Cette scène s’est produite lors de la finale retour de la Coupe de la Confédération de la CAF en Algérie.
C’est la tête haute que Young Africans peut regagner son pays, la Tanzanie. Malgré sa victoire 1-0 sur l’USM Alger, ce résultat des Jaunes et Noirs ne leur a pas permis de remporter la Coupe. Tombés les armes à la main à Alger, les Tanzaniens ont été chaleureusement ovationnés lors de leur sortie du stade du 5 juillet.
Ce geste grandeur nature restera dans la mémoire collective du peuple tanzanien. Par ailleurs, rappelons que l’USM Alger a remporté la Coupe CAF après avoir battu Young Africans 2-1 à Dar es Salaam (2-1) et s’être incliné (1-0) en Algérie. Voici le lien de la vidéo.
