La Guinée-Equatoriale va disputer sa quatrième phase finale d’une Coupe d’Afrique des Nations en 2024 en Côte d’Ivoire. En prélude à cette 34e édition, le Nzalang Nacional jouera un match amical de préparation face à Djibouti.
La sélection équato-guinéenne devait affronter le Cameroun le 8 janvier en match de préparation pour la CAN 2023. Mais aux dernières nouvelles, la Fédération Camerounaise de Football a annoncé l’annulation de cette opposition à son homologue. Dans un courrier adressé à la FEGUIFUT, la FECAFOOT justifie cette annulation par l’agenda très serré d’entraînement proposé par le manager sélectionneur des Lions Indomptables. Ce qui oblige la Guinée-Equatoriale à revoir ses plans.
D’après les dernières informations, la sélection nationale de équato-guinéenne fera face à Djibouti pour son match de préparation. Ce sera le 9 janvier 2024 à l’occasion du stage de préparation de l’équipe qui se tiendra à Malabo, la capitale du pays. Cinq jours plus tard, les hommes de Juan Micha Obiang feront leur entrée en lice à la CAN 2023 face au Nigeria dans le groupe A. Ils joueront ensuite la Côte d’Ivoire et la Guinée-Bissau lors de la phase de groupes.
Pou rappel, le sélectionneur de la Guinée-Equatoriale a dévoilé sa liste de 27 joueurs dans la matinée du dimanche 31 décembre 2023. Cependant, elle reste encore provisoire puisque Juan Micha Obiang a indiqué qu’elle pourrait encore subir de modification avant d’être envoyée à la Confédération Africaine de Football.
